Get a box to your family without the guesswork
Clothes for the kids, a phone, tools, gifts for December. Half of Riverhead has a box like that filling up in a corner of the living room. The question is always the same: how do I get it there without it costing a fortune or vanishing on the way?
We ship through two established cargo couriers, Marinero Cargo and Globo Cargo, from our counter on West Main Street. You bring the box, we weigh it in front of you, you pay by the pound, and the courier takes it from there. You get a real person to ask about your shipment, in your language, every day until 9:30 PM.
What it costs
- Guatemala: $8 per pound, with no weight limit per box.
- Ecuador: priced by the pound, with an 8-pound limit per box.
One honest note: the cargo companies set their own box prices, and those change month to month. Call us or stop by for the current rate before you seal everything up. We'd rather quote you right than quote you fast.

Shipping a TV or something big
Televisions travel, but the couriers are strict about how. Here's the rule, exactly as it works at the counter:
- The TV must be in its original box.
- That box goes inside a wooden crate of matching dimensions.
- Nothing else can be added inside the TV box. No tucking in clothes or gifts around the screen.
- Don't have a wooden crate? We'll have it crated for an additional $50.
Follow those rules and your TV arrives protected and passes inspection without drama. Skip them and the shipment gets delayed or refused, which nobody wants after standing in line.
Packing tips from people who ship every week
- Write the recipient's name and address on a card inside the box, on top of the contents, in case the outer label is damaged.
- Weigh the box at home first if you want to estimate the cost before you come in.
- Ask us about restricted items before you pack them. Better to know at the counter than at customs.
- Sending money along with the box? Do it properly through our money transfer counter instead of hiding cash in the shipment. Cash in a box is uninsured and it's the first thing that disappears.
Sending for the holidays? Start in the fall.
Every December, the same scene: the line grows, the couriers' schedules fill, and the boxes that left in November get unwrapped on time while the late ones spend New Year's in a warehouse. If your box is meant for Christmas, start bringing things in by October or November. You can drop off early and let it travel while the rush piles up behind you.
The rest of the year, shipments move on the couriers' regular schedules, and at drop-off we'll always give you the honest timeline instead of the optimistic one. Your family is waiting on that box. We treat it that way.

How much does it cost to ship to Guatemala?
$8 per pound with no weight limit per box. Box fees are set by the cargo companies and change monthly, so call for the current total before you come in.
What about Ecuador?
Shipments to Ecuador are charged by the pound with an 8-pound limit per box. For heavier loads, split into multiple boxes and we'll help you plan it.
Can I ship a television?
Yes. It must be in its original box, inside a wooden crate of the same dimensions, with nothing else packed in it. If you don't have a crate, we'll arrange one for $50 more.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the courier, the destination, and the month. Ask when you drop off and we'll give you the courier's current schedule instead of a guess.
